Details

The subject is Portraits. It doesn't have to be realistic, though. Anything that captures either the personality or features of the portrait-ee will be great Any digital or traditional media is accepted. You may choose to draw whomever you wish [no writings, I wouldn't be able to judge it properly :3]. Limit is two submissions, but I prefer quality to quantity. People only.. or pets Oh and note me your final submissions. Spread the word, etc.


The contest ends on March 31, 2008. This should be an adequate period of time to compose a quality piece of art I know some people have limited time, but I'm sure there is a weekend or two in the next two months for you guys to draw.


There will be only one prize, though anyone who participates will receive a sketch by me of their choice. I won't announce what it is, but I assure you it will be worth it. It's always more fun to have a surprise ending, aye?

Questions
Don't be afraid to ask questions I'll post all questions here with their answers.

Q: Does it have to be a realistic portrait, like having a photo reference, or can it be a bit more... abstract and surreal? Mainly what I'm asking, does it have to look like the person? Because when I do portraits, they tend to be very... far from reality.
A: It just needs to reflect the personality of the someone you know or yourself: either by capturing their looks or.. say their 'colorful' personality by use of striking colors or shapes and the such

Q: Can it be anime?
A: Yes, it can be any style of drawing. Like I said, it doesn't have to be realistic. It really doesn't even have to resemble the person, just reflect their personality

Q: Can I submit a portrait I've already made?
A: Yes, this is acceptable.

Q: Why don't you accept writings?
A: *redundant* I'm extremely picky about writing, more than I am about art and photography. I don't feel that I could judge any written submissions as properly as I could visual [not that writings aren't visual ._o] art.

Q: Does it have to be human?
A: You can make it a pet or somesuch D:
